1.Cradle Hold - Newborn to 6 months

This ia a cradle hold -- one of the best holds
for newborns to 6 month old babies.
Start by reaching inside of the pouch to find the back of it,
pulling it up against your chest. You want to
make sure the inside back of the pouch is pulled
up so that baby can be safely placed inside the
pouch - this is of the utmost importance!
Using the same arm as the shoulder fabric is on,
hold baby with her or his head at the crook of
your elbow and bottom in your hand. With your
other hand hold open the pouch as you ease baby
in. Baby can be laying down in the pouch, or baby can sit
up in this position, with head propped up against the
shoulder fabric.

Newborns sometimes look as though they are
lost or scrunched up at the bottom of the pouch
- don’t worry! If baby is not comfortable he or
she will tell you. It is natural for babies to get
into scrunched up, fetal like positions – just like
those in the womb.

2.Snuggle Hold - Newborn to 6 months

The Snuggle Hold is perfect for newborns and
babies who are happier in a vertical position (this
is also a great position for burping.)

To get baby into this hold, make sure the pouch is
set to your tightest position. Faceing baby to your
chest slide him or her into the pouch. Baby’s legs
can be in the pouch, or the bottom, padded rail of
the pouch can be under baby’s butt with legs
hanging out. The back of the pouch can be pulled
up over the head, or with babies that can hold up
their head, can be pulled up to the shoulders.

3. Kangaroo Carry

For Kangaroo / Front Carry pic:
The Kangaroo / Front Carry position is great for
babies that can hold up their heads until about
the time baby is ready for the hip carry position
(6 to 12 months).

For this carry, hold open the pouch with slightly
more fabric at the front, face baby forward
and holding babies legs in a crossed legged
sitting position, lower baby into pouch. Baby
wants to be in a sitting position facing out.

4. Hip Carry- 6 months to 35 lbs.

The Hip Carry position is great for babies that can
sit up on their own to 35lb toddlers.

To put your child in the hip carry, put the
pouch on, making sure the padded rail is the
inside, lower rail, against your body. Hold your
child up high, almost over your shoulder, then
slide his or her feet through the pouch, and begin
to lower your child into the pouch, until he or she
is seated on your hip. Your child should be sitting in
the pouch like a bucket seat with the padded rail to
the inside bend in his or her knees and the outside
rail of the pouch comingup your child’s back.
Depending on your child the pouch can come all
the way up the back with your child’s arms in the
pouch, or to the armpits, so arms are out.

5. Back Carry - 12 months to 35 lbs.

This is the back carry position for toddlers. To
start put baby in the Hip Carry Position, then
slide baby around to your back. Make sure a
second person is there to check that your child
is securely in the pouch, with the padded rail
reaching to the inside bend of the knees and the
outside rail reaching up to the shoulders.
